Part of our brand vision is to be as sustainable as possible. Thus, not only minimising our environmental footprint, but also playing a positive role in communities, being a considerate employer and promoting inclusive values.
Key strategic areas
We are constantly monitoring our impact on the environment and considering responsible approaches to consumption and production.
01 — 05
Reduce energy consumption
We will continue to invest in energy efficiency across our retail estate. Measures include converting store salesfloor lighting to LED technology, a critical step towards our target of becoming a carbon neutral business.
02 — 05
Reduce waste sent to landfill
We aim to minimise waste going to landfill by phasing out plastic packaging wherever we can. Our goal is to reduce all unnecessary packaging, working in partnership with our suppliers to reduce the use of non-recyclable materials, and to introduce reusable or recyclable packaging for every possible product.
03 — 05
Responsible consumption and production
We will continue to work closely with our suppliers across Europe and Asia. Our shared goal is to minimise the environmental impact of golf product manufacturing.
04 — 05
We aim to substantially reduce the incidence of single-use plastics from all group activities. We are also working with our suppliers to reduce quantities of single-use plastics coming into the business.
05 — 05
Putting the tee into sustainability
Oceantee is ILG’s official sustainability partner. We share their vision for golf, summed up as “More Drive, Less Plastic”, with high performing golf gear made using environmentally friendly materials such as bamboo and recycled ocean waste. Let’s love our planet as much as we love our game.
Helping to make golf a force for good
The current boom in participation is the perfect opportunity to broaden the game’s appeal. We are constantly assessing how ILG can promote good health, wellbeing and gender equality for our people, our customers and the wider community — attracting families, involving previously excluded groups and empowering people with disabilities.
Open, transparent and participatory
Building a new group has allowed us to create structures that reflect the most enlightened business thinking. We have appointed an ESG board including key leaders to ensure that our environmental, social and governance goals, such as improving the gender pay ratio across the group, remain top priority and are factored into every investment decision.
“Everything we do impacts our community and planet. Therefore, we are committed to making every outcome positive by running an ethical, sustainable, inclusive, and responsible business.”
